A southern French everyday red that delivers more than its price suggests: dark fruit, melt, and the typical pepper play of the south.
Paul Mas is one of the most well-known estates in the Languedoc. Jean-Claude Mas has developed the family winery into one of the largest quality producers in the region – with vineyards between Montpellier and Béziers, on soils of limestone and red shale, which suit Syrah and Grenache particularly well.
In the glass, it shows a dark violet red. On the nose, blackberry and black currant, plus a hint of mocha and Mediterranean spice. On the palate, soft and juicy, with ripe dark fruit and a finish characterized by the typical pepper character of Syrah. The tannins are polished, the acidity subtle – an uncomplicated, round wine without sharp edges.

Is the wine dry?
Yes, it is vinified dry. The impression of melt and ripe fruit comes from the Grenache portion and the warm Languedoc climate – not from residual sweetness.
What does the Syrah-Grenache pair best with?
Classically with grilled lamb or merguez, but also with ratatouille, ragout, or a mature cheese like Manchego or Bleu Basque. An uncomplicated companion that does not push itself into the foreground.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Best at 16–18 °C. Served too warm, it loses its freshness; too cold, the tannins seem edgier than they are – a short time in the refrigerator is enough if at room temperature.
How long does the wine last after opening?
Well-sealed and kept cool, it lasts for two to three days. The round structure remains stable – it does not get worse, but loses some of its fresh fruitiness.

Domaines Paul Mas stands for the new face of the Languedoc: Jean-Claude Mas founded the company named after his father in the year 2000 on the heritage of a winemaking family whose history dates back to 1892.
Today, he manages over 850 hectares of vineyards at 17 locations in the south of France – from the accessible Pays d'Oc to the renowned Crus Pézenas and Terrasses du Larzac.
His claim is "Luxe Rural": wines with genuine terroir character that provide great emotions without a premium price. With 100% HVE-certified vineyards and 80% organically managed land, sustainability is not a marketing promise, but lived practice.
