Paul Mas Estate Viognier Reserve

Viognier from the Languedoc is either too sweet or too flat — this one strikes the right balance: aromatically dense, but with enough freshness not to seem too heavy.

Paul Mas cultivates over 1,000 hectares of his own land in Languedoc-Roussillon, including the single-vineyard sites of the Estate line. The Viognier Reserve comes exclusively from estate vineyards and is vinified as a single varietal – not a blended profile, but the full characteristics of the grape variety.

In the glass, an intense straw yellow. The nose opens with white peach, apricot, and a hint of apple blossom—typical of well-ripened Viognier grapes from the warm south. A subtle tropical note (pineapple, ripe pear) is also present. On the palate, it is full-bodied and smooth, with a lively acidity that prevents the wine from becoming heavy. The finish offers an invigorating, slightly floral freshness.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Best to drink now.
Goes well with: rich fish dishes (e.g. monkfish in saffron sauce, salmon with butter sauce), poultry with creamy sauce or spicy chicken curry.
