La Grange Terroir Syrah Cabanisse

La Grange Terroir Syrah Cabanisse
A Syrah that shows the Languedoc from its accessible side: juicy fruit, lively spice, and a body that prioritizes elegance over weight.
The La Grange winery is located in the heart of the Languedoc, one of France's most biodiverse wine regions. The Terroir series is the heart of the estate — each parcel with its own soil and climate signature brings a grape variety to its optimal location. The Cabanisse is the site where this Syrah develops its character: Mediterranean warmth, but with enough freshness for structure and length.
In the glass, it shows a powerful ruby red. On the nose, ripe blackberry and sour cherry, plus black pepper and a hint of lavender — typical for Syrah from the southern French hinterland. Juicy on the palate, with medium body and soft tannins. The acidity remains lively, the finish spicy-fresh with a lingering pepper note.

The French winery, located in the south of the country near the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park, was founded in the 18th century and is now run by Rolf and Renate Freund. On a total vineyard area of 32 hectares, the grapes for the high-quality wines are first cultivated before maturing into the finished product in the winery. The company's grape varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Mouvredre, Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan.
