La Grange Terroir Merlot IGP Pays d'OC
A typical Merlot from the Languedoc region, demonstrating what suitable soil selection can achieve: round structure, clear fruit, not a gram of excess.
La Grange manages his vineyard in the Hérault region according to the principle of terroir parcelling — each grape variety is given the soil best suited to it. For Merlot, this means cooler clay soils that preserve freshness and emphasize the juiciness typical of the variety.
In the glass, the wine shines a clear cherry red. The nose reveals ripe sweet cherry and a subtle hint of bell pepper—both classic Merlot characteristics from the Languedoc. On the palate, soft, well-integrated tannins, medium body, and a juicy finish with a touch of plum. No intrusive oak, no over-extraction—the wine remains perfectly drinkable.
