Hammel & Cie Riesling Sparkling Wine Brut

Hammel & Cie Riesling Sparkling Wine Brut
Using Riesling as the base for a German sparkling wine results in a different style than the classic Champagne blend: more fruit intensity, a clearer acidity, and fewer toasty aromas. The Hammel & Cie Riesling Sekt Brut from the Palatinate consistently follows this logic. The nose reveals apple, citrus peel, and a hint of quince; on the palate, it is dry and crisp with lively, fine-pored bubbles and a fresh, mineral finish.
Riesling, as a base wine for sparkling wine, brings a natural acidity structure that ensures freshness and length – without artificially increasing the dosage. The Brut character keeps the residual sugar low, making this wine one of the most versatile aperitifs in the German selection.
Highly recommended with asparagus dishes with hollandaise sauce, goat cheese crostini, light fish appetizers, or sushi. It also makes a great accompaniment to a summer brunch. Serving temperature: 7–9 °C.
