Erdener Treppchen Riesling Kabinett - white capsule
With the Erdener Treppchen Riesling Kabinett in the white capsule, Markus Molitor demonstrates just how precise and vibrant a dry Mosel Riesling can be. This wine captures the mineral essence of the steep slopes and translates it into a cool, captivating style.
The winery on the Wehlener Klosterberg stands for uncompromising manual labor and low yields. The grapes for this Kabinett come from old vines and are harvested late and with rigorous hand selection. In the cellar, Molitor follows a purist philosophy: spontaneous fermentation, mostly in classic large wooden casks, and extended lees aging without fining agents. This traditional approach gives the wine its remarkable structure and renowned aging potential.
In the glass, bright, crystal-clear Riesling aromas unfold, underpinned by a dense, pronounced slate minerality. On the palate, it is firm, concentrated, and exquisitely piquant. The crisp acidity extends to the saline finish, which makes the wine extremely invigorating and lingers long on the palate.
This dry Kabinett is best served at 8 to 10 °C . It is an excellent accompaniment to pan-fried pike-perch with root vegetables, fresh goat cheese, or a delicate veal carpaccio with lemon.
