Einstern Pinot Noir Quality Wine

Pinot Noir from the Mosel — that sounds unusual, but at Markus Molitor, it is a consistent part of the program. The Einstern shows what the slate-dominated slopes of the Middle Mosel can also achieve for red grape varieties: freshness, finesse, and a clear mineral line.

Markus Molitor is one of the most well-known winemakers in the Mosel. His winery in Wehlen cultivates steep slopes that are primarily famous for Riesling — but Pinot Noir also has its firm place here. The Einstern is the entry into the estate's Pinot range: accessible, clearly varietal, without compromising on origin.

In the glass, it shows aromas of red cherry and raspberry, along with a subtle spice and the lightness characteristic of Mosel red wines. The tannins are soft, the acidity is lively without being sharp, and the finish remains pleasantly long and fresh.

Drink it slightly chilled at 14–16 °C — this enhances the fruit and elegance. On the table, it pairs well with salmon trout, goat cheese, mushroom risotto, or grilled vegetables. It is also a safe choice as an uncomplicated companion for an evening without much cooking effort.
