Kinheimer Rosenberg Riesling Spätlese

A Riesling that showcases the elegance of the Middle Mosel in a concentrated form: fruit-sweet, but with the acidity that keeps this sweetness in balance and gives the wine tension.

Markus Molitor is one of the most well-known names on the Mosel. His winery in Wehlen manages over 100 hectares, many of them steep slopes on blue and grey slate. The Kinheimer Rosenberg is located downstream, in the northern part of the Middle Mosel — a vineyard site known for its fruit-forward, aromatically accessible style. Molitor vinifies his Spätlese wines traditionally: selective hand-harvesting, gentle pressing, and slow fermentation at cool temperatures to preserve the Riesling's aromatic potential.

In the glass, it reveals ripe yellow peach, apricot, and a hint of mandarin, underpinned by the typical slate minerality of the Mosel. The residual sweetness never feels heavy — the precise acid structure keeps everything in motion and ensures a long, fresh finish with a touch of citrus zest.

At the table, this Riesling pairs well with spicy dishes that can handle a bit of sweetness: Asian curry, duck with plum sauce, or strong blue cheese. It also works well as a standalone aperitif. Serving temperature: 8–10 °C.

Weingut Markus Molitor

Weingut Markus Molitor stands for Mosel Riesling that clearly expresses the unique characteristics of this German wine region. Hardly any other winery understands how to translate the steep slate slopes of the Mosel into wines that combine minerality, freshness, and depth in their own unique way.

At Vinoscout, you will find a fine selection of four white wines that show what the Mosel has to offer in terms of Riesling – from fresh lightness to mature depth. Each bottle tells its own story: some impress with zesty acidity and a lean structure, others with dense aromatics and an almost creamy texture, which is typical for the best sites along the river.

The bottles are priced between 17.30 and 25.60 EUR, making the range interesting for both uncomplicated enjoyment and special occasions. Whether as a spontaneous companion for the evening or as a highlight on a festive table – at Markus Molitor, you will find Rieslings that bring the Mosel to life in every glass.
