The Tre Passo from the Italian winery Cielo e Terra shows a deep, dark red in the glass and offers intense, rich fruit notes of currants and sour cherries, as well as a light wood note. Its round tannins combine with its rich, ripe fruit and its refreshing acidity.
The name Tre Passo refers to the elaborate production process of the wine, which is divided into three steps. First, partially overripe grapes are selected, the mash is pumped over several times during the cooled fermentation until the young wine is finally refined in wooden barrels.

Clearly fruity: currant and sour cherry dominate, accompanied by a light wood note from the barrel aging. The tannins are round, the acidity fresh – a full-bodied red wine without hard edges.

Yes, it is vinified dry. The ripe, dark fruit can suggest a hint of sweetness, but there is no residual sugar present.
What is the best food pairing for the Tre Passo?
With hearty dishes: leg of lamb, game ragout, braised dishes, or grilled salsiccia. It also makes a good figure with aged Parmesan or a festive roast goose.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Best served at 16–18 °C. It is too heavy straight from a warm room – a short time in the fridge (20–30 minutes) brings it to the right temperature.
What is the story behind the name "Tre Passo"?
The three steps of winemaking: selection of partially overripe grapes, multiple pump-overs of the mash during chilled fermentation, and final aging in wooden barrels. This explains the unusual fruit density for a dry red wine.
Is the wine organic certified?
Yes, the Tre Passo carries organic certification. Cielo e Terra produces it from organically farmed Negroamaro grapes from Apulia.
The Winery
Cielo e Terra has 2 origins in Veneto: the Cielo family and the winemakers of Cantine Colli Berici. The story of Cielo e Terra began in 1908 when the Cielo family bought land in Vicenza, near the Castelli di Romeo e Giulietta, which also included a small vineyard, Casa Defrà. In 1960, the winery was founded in its current form as a cooperative and an Italy-wide distribution network was established.
Today, Cielo e Terra exports to over 60 countries, consists of over 1000 winemakers with 3700 hectares of cultivated land, and is a leader in the field of sustainability.
