Maestro Primitivo Puglia

Southern Italy's sunshine is captured in this Primitivo from Apulia: a dense spectrum of fruit, a soft body, and a pleasantly approachable style.

Cielo e Terra is a northern Italian winery with a broad presence in the greater region – the Maestro Primitivo stands for uncomplicated, well-made everyday wines from southern Italy. Primitivo grapes grow in Apulia on barren, calcareous soils under intense sunshine, which allows the berries to ripen to be particularly sugary and aromatic.

In the glass, it displays a rich cherry red color. The nose offers blackberry, baked plum, and a hint of dried apricot. On the palate, it is round and full-bodied, with soft tannins and few rough edges – not a wine that demands patience. The finish is short, fruity, and pleasantly warming.

Serving suggestion: Drink now, do not store. Served at 16–17 °C, it goes well with pasta with meat sauce, grilled sausages, pizza, or an evening on the sofa without much cooking effort.

Cielo e Terra

Cielo e Terra has two origins in Veneto: the Cielo family and the winemakers of Cantine Colli Berici. The story of Cielo e Terra began in 1908 when the Cielo family purchased land in Vicenza, near the Castelli di Romeo e Giulietta, which also included a small vineyard, Casa Defrà. In 1960, the winery was established in its current form as a cooperative, and a distribution network was set up throughout Italy. Today, Cielo e Terra exports to over 60 countries, comprises more than 1,000 winemakers with 3,700 hectares of vineyards, and is a leader in sustainability.
