Columbia Valley Syrah seduces with sweet, dark-spicy berry fruit, fine roasted notes, and a hint of vanilla. Fully ripe grapes, long barrel aging, and silky tannin give it the round, velvety fullness that makes the wine beautifully accessible already now.
The grapes were harvested during the warm hours of the day to trigger rapid fermentation, then crushed and fermented for 7-8 days. Twice a day, the mash was flooded with about 80% of the must to extract a maximum of color and fruit aromas from the grapes and thus clearly bring out the juicy, concentrated character of the Syrah. After gentle pressing, the wine matured for 14 months in French and American oak, 20% of which was new.
