Chateau Ste. Michelle »EROICA« Columbia Valley Riesling 0.75L

The Eroica is one of the most famous Riesling collaborations in North America — created from the partnership between Château Ste. Michelle and the German winery Dr. Loosen. Behind the name is a clear concept: Washington State meets Mosel philosophy, and the result is a Riesling that sounds neither American nor German, but has developed its own character.

The grapes come from the Columbia Valley, one of the driest and sunniest wine regions in the USA. Long, hot days and cool nights ensure ripe fruit while simultaneously providing vibrant acidity — both are clearly noticeable in the glass. The nose shows lime zest and mandarin, plus a hint of white peach. On the palate, the wine appears juicy and full-bodied, the residual sweetness is cleanly integrated by a fresh, mineral acid structure. The finish is long and characterized by a light salty note.

Served well chilled at 8–10 °C, it accompanies sushi with cucumber and avocado just as convincingly as gratinated scallops or a slightly spicy Thai curry. It also cuts a fine figure with Asian cuisine with ginger and lemongrass.
