Stimson Estate Cellars Chardonnay
The grapes for the Stimson Estate Cellars Chardonnay come from select vineyards in these cooler locations of the Columbia and Yakima Valleys. To preserve the grapes' freshness, they are harvested in the early morning, immediately pressed at the winery, and the must is gently pre-clarified during a 24- to 48-hour cold sedimentation. This is followed by a temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, lasting approximately two to three weeks. A small portion of the wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages for a while on the fine lees before being blended back into the final product. It is then lightly fined and filtered before bottling. Color: brilliant straw yellow with delicate green highlights. Aroma: intense fruit bouquet with juicy notes of apples, pears, and exotic fruits, subtly underpinned by fragrant floral aromas. Taste: juicy and vibrant on the palate with a beautiful balance of aromatic fruit, crisp acidity, and a delicate hint of toasted oak.
