Bründlmayer Langenloiser Spiegel Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc

Bründlmayer produces his Langenloiser Spiegel from approximately 90% Pinot Gris and only about 10% Pinot Blanc. The less aromatically dominant Pinot Blanc component thus falls below the legally relevant threshold of 15%, meaning the grape variety no longer appears explicitly on the label. The balance of flavor remains unaffected by this slight adjustment in the grape variety proportions. Bründlmayer ferments his Pinot Gris partly in small 300-liter barriques made of Austrian oak and completes the cuvée with aging in large 2500-liter wooden casks. Colour: bright pale yellow with greenish highlights. Aroma: attractive, delicately fruity bouquet with a subtle scent of hay flowers and fine roasted notes. On the palate, the Langenloiser Spiegel is elegant and powerful with fine aromas of citrus fruits, apples, a touch of honey and butterscotch, which give the wine a wonderfully creamy texture; the finish is long with a seductive balance of invigorating freshness and elegant minerality.
