Grüner Veltliner Loiserberg Kamptal DAC 1ÖTW
The Loiserberg is one of the most distinctive vineyard sites in the Kamptal — and Bründlmayer produces a Grüner Veltliner here that shows why the region is among Austria's white wine elite.
The Bründlmayer winery in Langenlois has cultivated top vineyard sites in the Kamptal region for generations and is a founding member of the Austrian Traditional Wine Estates (1ÖTW) – an association that applies the Burgundian concept of vineyard sites to Austrian soil. The Loiserberg vineyard is situated at a high elevation, facing south-southeast, and is well-protected from the wind by its topography. This results in even ripening combined with cool night temperatures – ideal for acidity and finesse.
The hand-picked grapes are fermented using traditional methods in stainless steel tanks, which emphasizes the varietal character: in the glass, white pepper, green apple, and a hint of grapefruit, underpinned by a fine minerality. The body is firm, the acidity present but not harsh, and the finish dry and long.
Serving suggestion: Well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with Wiener Schnitzel, grilled pike-perch, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, or a mature mountain cheese. Best enjoyed between 2024 and 2028.
