Bründlmayer Riesling Heiligenstein Lyra
The Heiligenstein near Langenlois is considered one of Austria's great Riesling sites — and Willi Bründlmayer has been one of its most convincing interpreters for decades. The Lyra training of the vines reduces the yield and concentrates the aromatics, which is immediately evident in the glass.
On the nose, passion fruit, white peach, and citrus zest, underpinned by a hint of mint and light tobacco. On the palate, firm and precise: the acidity is lively but never harsh, the mouthfeel cool and powerful. The finish is long, spicy, and characterized by a fine salinity — typical for the volcanic primary rock weathering soil of the Heiligenstein.
