Pinot Noir Reserve

Bründlmayer's Pinot Noir Reserve from the Kamptal shows what Lower Austria can do with Burgundy: not flashy tannins, but finesse and depth.

The Bründlmayer winery in Langenlois is one of the defining addresses of the Kamptal – known for precise white wines, but equally serious about Pinot Noir. The vineyards on primary rock soils and the continental climate with cool nights provide the foundation for red wines with clear structure and freshness.

In the glass, the 2020 Reserve shows aromas of sour cherry and blackberry, plus dried herbs and a hint of elderflower. Medium body, silky tannins, vibrant acidity – the finish remains fruity and salty at the same time. Not a heavy, extract-rich style, but a Pinot Noir that focuses on elegance.

Recommendation: Duck breast with cherry sauce, oven-baked salmon trout, or an aged mountain cheese. Serving temperature 16–17 °C.
