Riesling Kamptal Terrassen

Riesling Kamptal Terrassen
A Riesling that shows freshness and structure from the start — not a wine to wait for, but one with backbone.
Willi Bründlmayer is one of Austria's most renowned white wine producers. His winery in the Kamptal region, northwest of Vienna, cultivates vineyards on two very different soil types: loess in the lower-lying areas and primary rock on the terraces. It is precisely this alternation between mineral-rich gneiss and nutrient-rich loess that gives the Terrassen-Riesling its characteristic appearance—juicy fruit, but with a clear minerality beneath.
In the glass, it displays aromas of lime and kiwi, with a subtle citrus zest spice in the background. The palate is firm, the acidity lively without being harsh—typical of the Kamptal region. Medium-bodied, compact structure, clean finish with a saline note. A young wine that is enjoyable now, but can also improve for another year or two.
Serving suggestion: 10–12 °C, now until 2027. Goes well with grilled pike-perch, asparagus with hollandaise sauce or fresh goat cheese.
