I am 28 Kalimna Shiraz

Penfolds Bin 28 is the quintessential Australian Shiraz, made from grapes ripened in the balmy warmth. Robust, with opulent, juicy aromas, and without dominant new oak or excessive alcohol levels. First produced in 1962, this Shiraz is named Kalimna after the famous vineyard in the Barossa Valley that Penfolds acquired in 1945, from whose grapes the wine was originally made exclusively. Today, Bin 28 is a true Penfolds multi-regional, multi-vineyard blend, a wine made from grapes from different regions and vineyards, with clearly defined, ripe fruit in its youth, concentration, pronounced fruit sweetness, and only minimal oak influence. The wine matured for 12 months in previously used American oak barrels. Aroma: opens with lush, warm, spicy Shiraz aromas of (somewhat Christmassy) cloves, cinnamon, coriander, juicy plums, and cherries; Later, notes of licorice and delicate vanilla also become noticeable. Taste: full-bodied with a medium structure and juicy aromas of plums, cherries, and berries, mingling with hints of dark chocolate, mocha, and spices.
