Andrius Sauvignon Blanc DOC

A Sauvignon Blanc that expects nothing from the variety that one expects: no light citrus play, but depth, body, and real aging potential.

Cantina Andrian is located in Andrian, a small village north of Bolzano in South Tyrol. The cooperative works with limestone soils at altitudes between 300 and 900 meters — a terroir that gives white wines mineral tension and structure that simply does not arise in the flat vineyard.

The Andrius matures for six months on the fine lees, 80% in stainless steel and 20% in tonneau. The result is a wine with a creamy texture and at the same time a clear line: on the nose, gooseberry, white peach, and a spicy, slightly vegetal undertone — typical for Sauvignon on limestone. Juicy on the palate, with an acidity play that carries without stinging, and a long, slightly salty-mineral finish. Not an immediate drinker: the wine needs air or better yet time.

  • Food pairing: Scallops with butter, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, fresh goat cheese
  • Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C
  • Glass: Burgundy or white wine glass with a wide shoulder

Cantina Andrian

Cantina Andrian – this is South Tyrol as it should be: rooted in a long history, yet never stagnant. Behind this winery lies a conviction that you can taste in every glass: tradition is not a museum. It is something living, constantly evolving – harvest after harvest, generation after generation. The people at Andrian are always searching for new paths, without forgetting their roots. What does that mean? Wines that embody the soul of the place – the cool mountain air, the mineral-rich soils, the unique character of alpine vineyards – and yet feel fresh and contemporary. Not just managing the status quo, but a truly distinctive style. When you open a wine from Andrian, you drink a piece of South Tyrol – vibrant, honest, and full of character.
