Somereto Chardonnay DOC

A Chardonnay that deliberately avoids oak aging — and thus shows exactly what the Adige Valley between Bolzano and Merano does particularly well: freshness, minerality and texture from the high altitude.

Cantina Andrian is located in South Tyrol at an altitude of around 400 meters, surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards with an alpine climate. The Somereto is made from French Chardonnay clones with low natural yields—fewer berries, more concentration in the must.

In the glass, it displays ripe yellow apple aromas, pear, and a hint of white peach, underpinned by a delicate herbal spiciness. The acidity is firm but smooth; the finish is long, cool, and clean—typical of a Chardonnay from high-altitude vineyards in South Tyrol without oak influence.

Cantina Andrian

Cantina Andrian – this is South Tyrol as it should be: rooted in a long history, yet never stagnant. Behind this winery lies a conviction that you can taste in every glass: tradition is not a museum. It is something living, constantly evolving – harvest after harvest, generation after generation. The people at Andrian are always searching for new paths, without forgetting their roots. What does that mean? Wines that embody the soul of the place – the cool mountain air, the mineral-rich soils, the unique character of alpine vineyards – and yet feel fresh and contemporary. Not just managing the status quo, but a truly distinctive style. When you open a wine from Andrian, you drink a piece of South Tyrol – vibrant, honest, and full of character.
