Doran Chardonnay Riserva DOC Magnum 1.5L

A South Tyrolean Chardonnay with a Burgundian signature: fully ripe, creamy, with the minerality of the Etschtal valley's limestone soils in the background.

Cantina Andrian is located in the heart of South Tyrol, near Andrian between Bolzano and Meran. The cooperative works with winegrowers whose families have been cultivating the vines for generations — at altitudes that ensure cool nights and thus freshness and aromatics.

For the Doran Riserva, only small-berried French Chardonnay clones grown on mineral limestone soils are used. Fermentation takes place 100% in tonneaux, 30% of which are new wood. Regular batonnage — stirring the lees — ensures that wood and fruit combine into a rounded unit.

In the glass, it shows ripe yellow apple, brioche, and a hint of roasted hazelnut. The body is full-bodied with a creamy texture; the acidity remains present and gives the wine support. Long, slightly mineral finish.

Serving temperature: 12–14 °C. The magnum bottle develops particularly slowly and evenly — ideal if you want to cellar the wine for another two to three years.

Cantina Andrian

Cantina Andrian – that is South Tyrol as it should be: rooted in a long history, but never standing still. Behind this winery is a conviction that you can feel in every glass: tradition is not a museum.

It is something living that continues to develop – harvest after harvest, generation after generation. The people at Andrian are constantly looking for new ways without forgetting where they come from. What does that mean?

Wines that carry the soul of the place – the cool mountain air, the mineral soils, the uniqueness of alpine locations – and yet appear fresh and contemporary. No managing of the tried and tested, but a real signature. When you open a wine from Andrian, you are drinking a piece of South Tyrol – lively, honest, and with character.
