Unteröwisheimer Kirchberg Weissburgunder QbA dry
A Pinot Blanc that offers more depth than one would expect at first glance – strong structure, spicy, with real aging potential.
Klumpp Winery cultivates its vineyards in the Kraichgau, one of Baden's warmer wine-growing regions, with great care for the terroir. The Unteröwisheimer Kirchberg is a single vineyard with loamy-calcareous soils – ideal conditions for a Pinot Blanc with substance and mineral character.
Initially restrained on the nose: spice, a hint of cigar box, and dry minerality. On the palate, significantly more volume emerges – ripe stone fruit (pear, quince) embedded in a powerful, broad body with a firm acid structure. Smoothness and structure are perfectly balanced, and the tannins (noticeable for a white wine) are well integrated. The finish is long, spicy, and complex.
This wine is drinkable now, but will only show its full potential in two to four years. Serving temperature: 12–14 °C. Pairs well with herb-crusted roast veal, mushroom risotto, or aged mountain cheese.
