Terra Montosa Riesling QW Rheingau 1.5L

The Terra Montosa is the Riesling with which you get to know the Georg Breuer winery in the Rheingau: dry, straightforward, and with clearly perceptible origin. This edition fills the 1.5-liter magnum, which is well suited for larger groups.

The name comes from Latin and means "steep earth". The grapes grow exclusively in the steep Cru sites of Rüdesheim and Rauenthal. There, the vines stand on deep soils of phyllite, clay, and quartz slate, which give the wine its mineral character.

In the nose, there are vineyard peach, apricot, and lime. On the palate, the wine appears fuller than one would expect from a dry Riesling. Fruit and acidity play against each other in a mineral way, while the structure remains clear and fine. The finish is finely spiced and lingers for a long time.

Serve it at 8 to 10 °C. It goes well with fried zander, asparagus with hollandaise, sweetbreads, or a mature mountain cheese. The magnum also makes it the wine for the table with several guests.

The Winery

Weingut Georg Breuer

Weingut Georg Breuer from Rüdesheim – Rieslings you won't forget. Clear, precise, full of character.

The steep slopes on the Berg Schlossberg, with terraces of up to 65 percent incline, are no place for machines. Here, manual labor, experience, and a good instinct count. Only the best grapes make it into the bottle – the rest stays out. That is an attitude, not a promise.

In the glass: mandarin peel, red apple, white peach. Slim, lively, straightforward.

And a special detail: every year, an artist designs the label of the Berg Schlossberg. An invitation to take a close look – at the bottle and at what is inside it.
