Pfaffenwies Lorch Riesling QW Rheingau 0.75L
The Riesling from the Lorch site Pfaffenwies shows what the northernmost tip of the Rheingau is capable of: a dry white wine with a clear structure and distinct terroir reference.
Lorch lies off the beaten path of the classic Rheingau core — the vines grow on a mix of shallow slate and quartzite as well as deeper loess soil at the foot of the slope. It is precisely this soil diversity that shapes the character of the wine. Weingut Georg Breuer has been one of the defining addresses in the Rheingau for decades, known for site-true Rieslings with depth and tension.
In the glass, the Pfaffenwies shows a lively acidity structure carried by mineral tones — slate and wet stone as a background, plus aromas of citrus peel, white peach, and a hint of herbal spice. The finish is long, dry, and salty.
Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs with zander with Beurre blanc, asparagus with herb vinaigrette, or aged goat cheese.

Georg Breuer Winery from Rüdesheim – Rieslings you won't forget. Clear, precise, full of character. The steep slopes of the Schlossberg hill, with terraces of up to 65 percent incline, are no place for machines. Here, handwork, experience, and a good intuition are what count. Only the best grapes make it into the bottle – the rest stay out. That's a principle, not a promise. In the glass: mandarin peel, red apple, white peach. Slender, vibrant, straightforward. And a special detail: Every year, an artist designs the label for the Schlossberg wine. An invitation to take a closer look – at the bottle and at what's inside.
