Súere Lugana Riserva
The Súere is the Riserva line from Cà Maiol – a Lugana that gets the time it needs: longer aging, more depth, a different caliber than the classic vintage Lugana.
Cà Maiol is one of the most famous addresses on Lake Garda. The winery cultivates the clay-rich soils of the Lugana DOC south of the lake, where the indigenous grape variety Turbiana – a local variant of Trebbiano di Soave – shows its mineral side most clearly. The Riserva matures longer on the lees and in the cellar before it hits the market.
In the glass, the 2021 shows light gold with green reflections. On the nose, poached apricot, light peach, and a hint of pineapple, underscored by smoky, slightly nutty tones – toasted almond, a touch of brioche. On the palate, creamy texture, carried by a fresh, well-integrated acidity. Mineral and herbal-accented notes maintain the length, the finish is focused and persistent.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with zander fillet with caper butter, risotto ai funghi, or a young Pecorino.

Cà Maiol is an Italian winery founded in 1967 by Walter Contato. The family business is now run by the second generation, Fabio and Patrizia Contato. Located at the southern end of Lake Garda, the winery owns approximately 140 hectares of vineyards with calcareous clay soils. Thanks to its proximity to Lake Garda, the region also enjoys a very mild climate. Among the grape varieties cultivated are Trbbiano di Lugano, Marzemino, Gropello, and Sangiovese.
