Cà Maiol
Cà Maiol –
Family winery on the southern shore of Lake Garda
Cà Maiol was founded in 1967 by Walter Contato and is now one of the most renowned wineries on the southern shore of Lake Garda . Fabio and Patrizia Contato run the family winery in its second generation, cultivating approximately 140 hectares of vineyards on calcareous clay soils that give this region its distinctive character.
The mild lake climate of Lake Garda ensures even ripening and delicate aromas in the wines. Both indigenous varieties such as Trebbiano di Lugana, Marzemino, and Gropello are cultivated, as well as Sangiovese – a range of varieties that reflects the diversity of Northern Italy between Lombardy and Veneto.
Cà Maiol wines stand for meticulous craftsmanship and a clear regional connection: fresh, mineral-driven white wines from the Lugana region and characterful red wines that go well with pasta, grilled fish from the lake or an uncomplicated evening at the table.
