Cà Maiol Prestige Lugana DOP
The Cà Maiol Prestige Lugana unites a prestigious blend: the unique soil, the mild microclimate, and the Trebbiano di Lugana grape variety. This results in a white wine with a distinct identity, exhibiting notes of green apple, lime, and wild thyme. The Lugana DOP Prestige, as its name suggests, encompasses a prestigious mix of elements that characterize it: a unique, clay-rich soil, the mild microclimate of Lake Garda, and the noble, indigenous Trebbiano di Lugana grape variety with its uniquely typical white-fleshed grapes. The selection for the Prestige wine is based on the exclusive use of grapes from Trebbiano di Lugana vines averaging 30 years old, cultivated on a 25-hectare estate belonging to the main Cà Maiol estate, home to the agricultural company Provenza. A delicate, very dry wine with a saline acidity, obtained through gentle winemaking and fermentation in stainless steel tanks; best enjoyed after bottling in the spring of the following year. Annual production is approximately 250,000 bottles. Wine Industry 2021: 87 points, Top 50

Cà Maiol is an Italian winery founded in 1967 by Walter Contato. The family business is now run by the second generation, Fabio and Patrizia Contato. Located at the southern end of Lake Garda, the winery owns approximately 140 hectares of vineyards with calcareous clay soils. Thanks to its proximity to Lake Garda, the region also enjoys a very mild climate. Among the grape varieties cultivated are Trbbiano di Lugano, Marzemino, Gropello, and Sangiovese.
