Súere Lugana Riserva

Súere is Cà Maiol's Riserva line – a Lugana that is given time to develop what it needs: longer maturation, more depth, a different caliber than the classic vintage Lugana.

Cà Maiol is one of the most renowned wineries on Lake Garda. The estate cultivates the clay-rich soils of the Lugana DOC south of the lake, where the indigenous Turbiana grape variety – a local variant of Trebbiano di Soave – most clearly displays its mineral character. The Riserva matures longer on the lees and in the cellar before being released.

In the glass, the 2021 vintage displays a bright gold color with green reflections. The nose offers aromas of poached apricot, light peach, and a hint of pineapple, underpinned by smoky, slightly nutty notes – roasted almond, a touch of brioche. On the palate, a creamy texture is supported by a fresh, well-integrated acidity. Mineral and herbal notes maintain the length, and the finish is focused and lingering.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Drinking window until 2028. Pairs well with pike-perch fillet with caper butter, risotto ai funghi or a young pecorino.

Cà Maiol

Cà Maiol is an Italian winery founded in 1967 by Walter Contato. The family business is now run by the second generation, Fabio and Patrizia Contato. Located at the southern end of Lake Garda, the winery owns approximately 140 hectares of vineyards with calcareous clay soils. Thanks to its proximity to Lake Garda, the region also enjoys a very mild climate. Among the grape varieties cultivated are Trbbiano di Lugano, Marzemino, Gropello, and Sangiovese.
