Rosa dei Frati DOC – Cà dei Frati (Italy, Lombardy) This family-run winery cultivates its vineyards directly on the western shore of Lake Garda, around Sirmione and Desenzano. There, the mild lake climate moderates temperature fluctuations, allowing the grapes a long, even ripening period. The cuvée is based on the indigenous Groppello grape variety, skillfully complemented by Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera. After brief skin contact and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine rests on its fine lees until late winter and then matures for a further two months in the bottle. The result shines with a clear salmon pink hue in the glass. The nose reveals delicate notes of hawthorn, wild strawberry, and a hint of fresh herbs. On the palate, it is juicy and delicately fruity, supported by a mineral foundation.
