Sieur d'Arques

Discover the birthplace of French sparkling wine with Sieur d'Arques! The traditional winery from the Languedoc looks back on over 470 years of experience and is considered the inventor of the Méthode Ancestrale – a process that was developed as early as 1531 by Benedictine monks in the abbey of Saint-Hilaire and thus existed before Champagne. To this day, the winery is closely intertwined with this history: around 200 winegrower families from the region around Limoux bring their grapes together and thus create a variety of terroirs that is reflected in every wine.

Exceptional Crémants de Limoux are created here, which will inspire you with their elegance and finesse. The sun-drenched vineyards, which are also characterized by cool winds from the nearby Pyrenees, give the grapes – especially Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Mauzac and Pinot Noir – a special freshness, which is expressed in fine-beaded, aromatic sparkling wines. Our Grand Cuvée 1531 de Aimery Crémants – both the classic Brut and the seductive Rosé – perfectly embody this centuries-old tradition and are carefully developed using traditional bottle fermentation.
