Grand Cuvée 1531 de Aimery Crémant Brut de Limoux
The Grand Cuvée 1531 de Aimery Crémant Brut de Limoux from the Sieur d'Arques winery is no ordinary sparkling wine – its name bears a year that makes history: in 1531, monks in Limoux discovered the art of bottle fermentation, long before Champagne began its triumphant rise. Whoever holds this Crémant in their glass holds a piece of wine history in their hands.
After twelve months of lees aging, it reveals its most elegant side: the perlage is fine and persistent, the aroma inviting with notes of green apple, ripe pear, and a hint of honey , along with delicate floral hints of white blossoms. On the palate, it impresses with a crisp freshness, pleasantly integrated acidity, and a substantial, dense body that lingers on the finish. The gold medal at the 2016 Concours Général Agricole Paris underscores what the glass reveals: unwavering commitment to quality.
- Origin: Crémant de Limoux, Southern France
- Yeast storage: 12 months
- Award: Gold Medal Concours Général Agricole Paris 2016
Enjoy it well chilled as an aperitif, with light appetizers, goat cheese, or creamy seafood. It is also a wonderful accompaniment to celebratory toasts – whenever the moment deserves it.

Discover the birthplace of French sparkling wine with Sieur d'Arques! The traditional winery from the Languedoc looks back on over 470 years of experience and is considered the inventor of the Méthode Ancestrale – a process that was developed as early as 1531 by Benedictine monks in the abbey of Saint-Hilaire and thus existed before Champagne. To this day, the winery is closely intertwined with this history: around 200 winegrower families from the region around Limoux bring their grapes together and thus create a variety of terroirs that is reflected in every wine.
Exceptional Crémants de Limoux are created here, which will inspire you with their elegance and finesse. The sun-drenched vineyards, which are also characterized by cool winds from the nearby Pyrenees, give the grapes – especially Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Mauzac and Pinot Noir – a special freshness, which is expressed in fine-beaded, aromatic sparkling wines. Our Grand Cuvée 1531 de Aimery Crémants – both the classic Brut and the seductive Rosé – perfectly embody this centuries-old tradition and are carefully developed using traditional bottle fermentation. Every bottle tells the story of the vineyards around Limoux and the masterful craftsmanship of this winery. Experience French sparkling wine excellence away from Champagne and let yourself be enchanted by the authentic quality of this special house – for you and for special moments!
