Sella & Mosca Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva

The typical Sardinian grape variety Cannonau thrives particularly well here, both in the warm, sandy soils of the coastal region and in the rocky mountain areas. This garnet to brick-red wine develops a distinct violet bouquet with age. After destemming, the grapes are macerated for three days to better extract the tannins and color from the skins. Following fermentation, the young wine is aged for two years in Slovenian oak barrels. James Suckling 2022: 94 points for the 2020 vintage

Sella & Mosca

The Italian winery Sella & Mosca was founded in 1899 by Emilio Sella and Edgardo Mosca. Located on the island of Sardinia, near the city of Alghero, it is now owned by the Campari Group. A total of 550 hectares of vineyards are used to cultivate grapes for the production of both white and red wines. The volcanic soils, combined with the local Mediterranean climate, provide perfect conditions for vine growth. Grape varieties used for red wine production include Connonau, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignano, and Merlot. Sella & Mosca's white wines are made from grape varieties such as Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc, and Torbato.
