Schwarzriesling SR off-dry

Schwarzriesling is one of the classic wines of Württemberg – a red wine that balances between fruit and dry structure with its off-dry style.

The Remstal Winery is one of Württemberg's most traditional cooperatives, with vineyards along the Remstal valley east of Stuttgart. Schwarzriesling – known in France as Pinot Meunier and an important Champagne grape variety there – has found its own home in Württemberg: loose soils, a continental climate, and plenty of sunshine in the valley locations.

In the glass, the SR displays a clear ruby red color. The nose offers aromas of fresh cherry and raspberry, along with a light earthy note. On the palate, it is light-bodied, with mild acidity and low tannins – the off-dry style allows a subtle residual sweetness to become noticeable, which supports the fruit without being cloying. The finish is short and pleasing.

Ready to drink now, ideally slightly chilled to 14–16 °C . Pairs well with snack platters of pretzels and ham sausage, light pasta dishes with tomato sauce, or as an uncomplicated accompaniment to a barbecue.
