Pinot Gris G dry
It is believed to be a mutation of Pinot Noir. In Germany, as early as the beginning of the 18th century, a merchant named Ruhland recognized the value of this white grape variety with its slightly reddish berries and subsequently sold the wine under the name Ruhlander. For approximately 30 years, with the advent of more modern styles and winemaking techniques, a distinction between the wines has become established: the variety is marketed as Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) when the wine is dry, fresh, fruity, and elegant; it is called Ruländer when it is deep golden, sweet, and full-bodied.
