Trollinger with Lemberger TL Blanc de Noir
A Blanc de Noir from Württemberg: red wine grapes, vinified as a white wine. The Remstal winery in the Remstal valley east of Stuttgart is one of the region's most traditional cooperative wineries – with Trollinger and Lemberger at the heart of its portfolio. Both varieties are well-known from Württemberg red wine production; here, they are pressed without skin contact and vinified into a light, fresh white wine.
In the glass: a clear straw yellow, sometimes with a delicate rosé hue. The nose opens with aromas of ripe pear and a hint of white currant. On the palate, the wine is light-bodied – the acidity is well-integrated, and a subtle residual sweetness gives the wine approachability without heaviness. The finish is short and fresh, without bitterness.
The Blanc de Noir concept is less common in Württemberg than in the Rheingau or Champagne – the Remstal winery uses the regional red wine grapes for a style that lies between white wine freshness and light red wine depth.
Serving suggestion: Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with tarte flambée, mild goat cheese, melon appetizers, or as a simple summer aperitif.
