Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Chianti Classico DOCG

Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Chianti Classico DOCG
The Riserva Ducale Oro is Ruffino's flagship wine — a Chianti Classico Riserva that shows what the Sangiovese grape can achieve in the heart of Tuscany.
Ruffino is among the most renowned names in Chianti Classico. The Riserva Ducale Oro is produced from carefully selected vineyards in the DOCG region between Florence and Siena—limestone and clay soils that impart the Sangiovese grapes with their characteristic acidity and depth. Riserva here signifies extended aging: maturation in oak barrels, followed by further bottle aging before release.
On the nose, it opens with sour cherry and dark plum, along with violets, and with a little aeration, a more complex bouquet of eucalyptus, dark chocolate, and black pepper. On the palate, it displays a dense yet elegant structure: fine-grained tannins and lively acidity that holds everything together. The finish is long—sweet tobacco, plum, and a balsamic aftertaste.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Drinking window until 2028. Pairs well with braised beef shoulder, venison ragù with pappardelle or mature Pecorino Toscano.
