Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Chianti Classico DOCG

The Riserva Ducale Oro is the flagship of Ruffino — a Chianti Classico Riserva that shows what the Sangiovese grape can achieve in the heart of Tuscany.

Ruffino is one of the most famous names in Chianti Classico. The Riserva Ducale Oro is created from carefully selected sites in the DOCG area between Florence and Siena — limestone and clay soils that give the Sangiovese its characteristic acidity structure and depth. Riserva here means extended maturation: aging in wooden barrels, then further bottle aging before the wine is released.

On the nose, it opens with sour cherry and dark plum, plus violets and, with some air, a more complex bouquet of eucalyptus, dark chocolate, and black pepper. On the palate, it shows a dense but elegant structure: fine-grained tannins, lively acidity that holds everything together. The finish is long — sweet tobacco, plum, a balsamic aftertaste.

Drinking temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs with braised beef shoulder, game ragù with pappardelle, or mature Pecorino Toscano.
