Ruffino Santedame Chianti Classico DOCG

Ruffino Santedame Chianti Classico DOCG
Elegance without heaviness — that is the approach Ruffino pursues with the Santedame: a Chianti Classico that balances freshness and structure.
Ruffino is one of the most famous names in Tuscany. Based in Pontassieve near Florence, the house has been cultivating vineyards in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone, the hilly landscape between Florence and Siena, for over 140 years. The Santedame, named after one of the estates owned by Ruffino, stands for the accessible, fruit-forward style of the house — classic Tuscan, without dust and pathos.
Vinified from Sangiovese, the typical heart of every Chianti Classico, the wine matures for 12 months in barrique barrels. This is evident in the glass: aromas of sour cherry, pomegranate, and dried herbs, including a fine hint of cedar wood and a trace of tobacco. On the palate, medium body, lively acidity, tannins with grip but without harshness. The finish is dry, long, and slightly spicy.
- Food: Florentine Bistecca, wild boar ragù on pappardelle, aged Pecorino Toscano
- Temperature: 16–18 °C
