Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico DOCG

Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico DOCG
The Riserva Ducale is one of the most famous Chianti Classico wines ever — a wine that has been showing for decades what Sangiovese can achieve in the heart of Tuscany.
Founded in 1877, Ruffino is today one of the leading names in Chianti Classico. The Riserva Ducale, recognizable by the gold band around the bottle, is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes grown in the DOCG zone between Florence and Siena. It is aged for 24 months in large wooden barrels —a deliberately traditional decision that allows the wine time to develop without overpowering it with oak aromas.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color. The nose offers aromas of black cherry and plum, underpinned by tobacco, cloves, and a fresh hint of eucalyptus. On the palate, fine, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, spicy finish—typical of a well-made Chianti Classico Riserva with aging potential.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Drinking window: now until 2030. Pairs well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina , braised wild boar, pasta al ragù or spicy Pecorino Stagionato.
