Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico DOCG

Ruffino Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico DOCG
The Riserva Ducale is one of the most famous Chianti Classico wines of all — a wine that has shown for decades what Sangiovese can achieve in the heart of Tuscany.
Ruffino was founded in 1877 and is now one of the big names in Chianti Classico. The Riserva Ducale, recognizable by the golden band around the bottle, is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes from the DOCG zone between Florence and Siena. 24 months of aging in large wooden barrels — a deliberately traditional decision that gives the wine time without overwhelming it with wood aromas.
In the glass, it shows a strong ruby red. On the nose, black cherry and plum, underpinned by tobacco, cloves, and a fresh hint of eucalyptus. On the palate, fine, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, spicy finish — typical for a well-made Chianti Classico Riserva with aging potential.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, braised wild boar, pasta al ragù, or spicy Pecorino Stagionato.
