Ruffino Chianti 1877 DOCG

Ruffino Chianti 1877 DOCG
An uncomplicated Chianti from the Ruffino winery – for evenings when you want to get food on the table quickly without sacrificing character.
Ruffino is one of the most famous names in Tuscany. They have been producing wine in the Chianti region since 1877 and have significantly shaped the style of Sangiovese-based everyday wines. Chianti DOCG follows this long tradition: Sangiovese as the main grape variety, complemented by other Tuscan varieties, and a short aging period for freshness rather than heaviness.
In the glass, it displays a bright ruby red. The nose offers sour cherry and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, it is light, with lively acidity and soft tannins – not a heavyweight, but a wine that doesn't compete, but rather accompanies. The finish is short and fresh.
- Food pairings: Pasta al pomodoro, pizza, grilled poultry, light meat dishes
- Temperature: 14–16 °C – slightly below typical red wine temperature, which emphasizes the freshness
- Occasion: An uncomplicated table wine for weekdays, also suitable as a light aperitif with antipasti
