Ruffino Santedame Chianti Classico DOCG

Elegance without heaviness — that is the approach Ruffino takes with the Santedame: a Chianti Classico that balances freshness and structure.

Ruffino is one of the most renowned names in Tuscany. Based in Pontassieve near Florence, the estate has cultivated vineyards in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone, the hilly region between Florence and Siena, for over 140 years. The Santedame, named after one of Ruffino's vineyards, embodies the approachable, fruit-forward style of the estate—classically Tuscan, without any hint of dust or pathos.

Made from Sangiovese, the typical heart of every Chianti Classico, this wine matures for 12 months in barriques . This is evident in the glass: aromas of sour cherry, pomegranate, and dried herbs, along with a subtle hint of cedar and a touch of tobacco. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with lively acidity and firm, yet smooth, tannins. The finish is dry, long, and slightly spicy.
