The Cristal Brut Vinothèque is no ordinary prestige cuvée — it is the late-disgorged version of Cristal, further aged in the chalk cellars, which Louis Roederer only releases after long lees aging. The result is a champagne that combines the house's precision with a depth that only time can provide.

Champagne Louis Roederer is one of the few remaining family-run Grandes Maisons in Reims. The house controls around 240 hectares of its own vineyards — a rarity in Champagne — and thus determines grape quality and style from root to bottle. The Cristal was originally created in 1876 as a special request from Tsar Alexander II and remains a single-vintage cuvée from the house's best parcels, dominated by Chardonnay.

In the glass, the Vinothèque shows a deep golden color with amber reflections — a visible sign of long aging. On the nose, ripe apricots, candied citrus peel, brioche, and a hint of toasted almonds. On the palate, a creamy texture, fine, long-lasting perlage, taut acidity structure, and a finish that oscillates between walnut, white truffle, and salt.

Best served at 10–12 °C — with lobster in sauce à l'américaine, matured Comté, or as an accompaniment to a menu that deserves this champagne.
