Pietrabianca Castel del Monte DOC

Pietrabianca Castel del Monte DOC
Two grape varieties, two winemaking methods — and a result that is more than the sum of its parts. The Pietrabianca from Bocca di Lupo combines the spiciness of Fiano with the richness of Chardonnay to create a white wine with depth and structure.
The Bocca di Lupo winery is located in Minervino Murge , in the northernmost part of Apulia, where the Castel del Monte DOC is based on limestone-rich soils and a continental climate—significantly cooler and windier than the climate on the coast. These conditions give the wines a natural tension.
In the cellar, the Fiano is aged in stainless steel tanks , the Chardonnay in new barriques —both then mature for six months in the bottle. The result is revealed in the glass: dried herbal tea notes meet mango and passion fruit, underpinned by vanilla and a hint of sweet spices. The palate is full-bodied, the oak well-integrated, the finish pleasantly long and slightly salty.
Serving suggestion: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled prawns with garlic butter, a creamy mushroom risotto, or oven-baked chicken with lemon and rosemary. Also excellent on its own as an accompaniment to a leisurely aperitivo.
