Philipp Kuhn Laumersheimer Grauer Burgunder Vom Löss trocken

Philipp Kuhn Laumersheimer Grauer Burgunder Vom Löss trocken
Pinot Gris from loess soil — that means fullness without heaviness, ripe fruit with a mineral backbone. This is exactly what this wine from Laumersheim in the Palatinate delivers.
Philipp Kuhn is one of the most reliable addresses in the Palatinate. His winery in Laumersheim works with soils that are rare in the region: deep loess, which stores heat and allows the vines to ripen evenly. The result is white wines with substance — round, aromatic, without the sharpness that sandy or chalky sites can bring.
In the glass, the Pinot Gris shows dried apple, overripe apricot, and a hint of walnut — typical Pinot Gris notes that appear somewhat broader and softer due to the loess than in lighter Palatinate sites. The body is full, the acidity integrated, the finish persistent with a light mineral line.
Drinking temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs with sliced veal in cream sauce, fried turbot, mature Brie, or a risotto with white truffle. It also cuts a fine figure as an accompaniment to Asian dishes with coconut milk.
