Pfaffmann Spätburgunder Walsheimer Silberberg dry

The single vineyard site Walsheimer Silberberg forms part of the larger Bischofskreuz vineyard area and surrounds Walsheim on all sides. Here, Pinot Noir thrives on the easily warmed loess loam soils with limestone inclusions in the deeper layers. A 12-day maceration period with daily stirring of the must allows for a gentle and well-balanced extraction of aromas, color, and tannins. The wine is then aged in large wooden casks for 12 months before being carefully bottled. Markus Pfaffmann's Walsheimer Silberberg Pinot Noir has aromas of wood and dark, red fruit, along with notes of smoke, leather, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is very compact and juicy, with more wood, a touch of vanilla, and a slightly astringent character with pronounced tannins. Exceptionally rich and complex, it boasts an impressive length. Aged for over 12 months in wooden casks.
