Founded by father Karl Pfaffmann, the skill and expertise at the Markus Pfaffmann winery are now in the hands of his son Markus. White wine from Markus Pfaffmann is cool, usually vinified dry, minerally fresh, and of the very best quality.
Pfaffmann's Riesling possesses a dense and juicy body with a firm core; very racy, has drive and plenty of flavor. In the mouth, mineral citrus fruit as well as herbal-spicy minerality and an animating, candied citrus fruit literally jump out at you.

The Winery
Walsheim, Southern Palatinate – Latitude 49°14'01", Longitude 8°07'20". Behind these coordinates lies a small village that hardly anyone knows at first glance, and that is exactly what makes it interesting. Here, between the Palatinate Forest and the Rhine plain, the Karl Pfaffmann winery grows its grapes – in a corner of the Palatinate blessed with plenty of sun, a mild climate, and deep soils.
The Southern Palatinate is one of the warmest wine-growing regions in Germany. You can tell by the wines: they have body, ripeness, and a directness that requires no long explanations. Karl Pfaffmann utilizes this potential and keeps returning to one fundamental idea – wine that tells the story of its origin.
