Louis Jadot Chassagne Montrachet

Since the 14th century, the picturesque town of Beaune has been the heart of the Burgundian wine trade. The most extensive vineyards of the Côte de Beaune stretch across nearly 450 hectares between Savigny-lès-Beaune in the north and Pommard in the south. There are no Grand Cru vineyards here, at least none officially designated as such. Instead, there are 36 Beaune Premiers Crus (some of which are hardly inferior to Grand Crus), covering over 320 hectares of vineyards and producing both white Chardonnay and red Pinot Noir. Louis Jadot's Chassagne Montrachet offers aromatic scents of exotic fruit, honey, and fresh hazelnut, with a subtle hint of oak. In terms of taste, the wines of Chassagne are usually somewhat stronger and more robust than those of Puligny, rich and luscious fruit with expressive aromatics, long-lasting with a mineral finish. Fermentation and 15 months of aging in French oak, partly with malolactic fermentation.
