Pinot Gris quality wine dry "Buntsandstein"

An uncomplicated Pinot Gris from the Southern Palatinate — dry, fresh and with the typical smoothness of the grape variety.

Lergenmüller is a family-run winery in the Palatinate region with long experience in cultivating classic Burgundy varieties. The name "Buntsandstein" refers to the characteristic soil of the Southern Palatinate: the reddish sandstone retains heat, while simultaneously imparting a certain lightness and mineral freshness to the wine.

In the glass, it displays aromas of ripe pear and citrus peel, complemented by delicate almond notes and a hint of butter in the background. Lively and smooth on the palate, with well-integrated acidity—not heavy, but very drinkable and clearly typical of the variety.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Goes well with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, quiche, pan-fried cod or a spicy Munster.

Lergenmüller

The German winery, headquartered in the Palatinate region, was founded in 1538 and is currently managed by Jürgen and Stefan Lergenmüller. With 195 hectares under vine, it is one of the largest wineries in the Palatinate and produces up to 850,000 bottles of wine annually. The vines are cultivated at four different locations on soils of limestone, loess, and variegated sandstone, providing them with ample minerals. Controlled irrigation and the abundant sunshine in the Palatinate contribute to optimal growth. Lergenmüller's portfolio includes white wines made from grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, as well as red wines from varieties like Pinot Noir, Merlot, and others.
