Lentsch Cabernet Franc Rose Reserve

A rosé wine that has more substance than the label suggests: The Cabernet Franc Rosé Reserve from Seegut Lentsch shows what the grape variety can do beyond red wine — structured, aromatically precise, with a real drinkability.

The Seegut Lentsch estate is located on Lake Neusiedl in the Austrian Burgenland, a region where the Pannonian climate, with its long, warm autumns, creates optimal ripening conditions for Cabernet Franc. The lake climate moderates the temperature and keeps the acidity fresh—both of which are reflected in the wine.

In the glass, the rosé shines a clear raspberry pink. The nose offers aromas of pomegranate, fresh strawberry, and a hint of dried hibiscus. On the palate, the typical Cabernet Franc structure is evident: a fine, invigorating acidity, a touch of spice—almost like white pepper—and a clean, lingering finish. Not a heavyweight, but certainly not a fleeting summer rosé.

Best served at 10–12 °C . Pairs well with grilled salmon with herb butter, goat cheese salads, or light pasta dishes with tomatoes. It also makes a great aperitif on the patio—with enough character to last through the evening.

Seegut Lentsch

On the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, where sun, wind, and water set the pace, lies the Seegut Lentsch. For three generations, the family has been cultivating wines here in Podersdorf that tell of this special patch of earth – honest, unmistakable, with soul. It is a winery that does not rely on effect, but on what the place itself has to give.

The Pannonian climate noticeably shapes the character of the vines: the warmth of the lake, the wide gravel soils, the special light that lies over the plain. What grows here tastes exactly like this place – and nothing else. This close connection between landscape and glass is what makes the wines from Lentsch so special and gives them a signature that cannot be copied.

Whether fruity-fresh rosé or elegant Muscat with elderflower: at Lentsch, the lake is in every drop. Anyone who tries these wines brings a piece of Lake Neusiedl directly into their glass – and with it the peace and vastness of this unique landscape.
